How is it that so many people confuse the Islamic god Allah with the Christian god?

The Jewish Jehovah the Christian God and Allah are the same. Christianity followed from Judaism because the Jews did not recognise Christ as the Messiah. Islam originally did but them rejected him in favour of an alleged prophet Muhammad, who at best has had his guidance misinterpreted
