I had my husband served for divorce but he has ignored the papers. the 30 days is almost up. what happens now?

my husband left me and our 2 children for a 21 year old girl. he doesnt call to check on the kids and hasnt seen them in i dont even know how long. he is ignoring the divorce papers and our 30 day mark is up the first week in mach. what will happen next. im not even sure what happens on the 30th day. does he just file a reply with the court or what? and what happens if he ignores the papers. he doesnt want our children anymore because his new girlfriend doesnt want kids and he said if he doesnt want them he shouldnt have to pay for them. can somebody please give me a little help with this?
