Why do countrys fight with one other? what is purpose of it. why did worldwar 1 and 2 happen.?

countries fight against each other if the country violated the rights or a sovereignty of a country or maybe if they have some misunderstandings. world war 1 happened mainly because of the territories europeans control while world war 2 is merely an extension of the first world war.
