Why do Christians insist that Hinduism is wrong?

I want to first say that I'm not against Christianity as a religion. All I'm saying is that Christians are very adamant about the idea that Hinduism, as a religion, is inherently wrong. I realize that the fact that Hinduism has many Gods, while Christianity believes that there can only be one God, but still. Why can't Christians respect Hinduism and Hindus?
