Pistol carry while hunting question?

Have to know. In Wisconsin, can you open carry a pistol for self defense? I was thinking a 7.62x25mm tokarev. We have been getting a lot of coyote and badger pictures on the game cameras, and I want to be safe. Is it legal to open carry a pistol, for self defense, and a rifle, for hunting.
