Rhythm is speaking or reading using a natural tone. The words flow from one to the next. Listen to someone reading the news, they use stress when they want to emphasis an idea. This kind of speaking is different from reading things like comedy where word stress is used to point out something funny. If you don't understand what you are reading or have not rehearsed what you are reading it will be harder for you to do it.
