As demonstrated in a loading screen, can one build up land vertically in "FarmVille"?

In the Zynga Facebook game "FarmVille," one of the loading screens shows a picture of farm which has built up vertically into tiers or terraces. Does anyone know how to emulate this? The hedge and whitewash fence objects seem to be in use here.
